I am reasearching the new 2013RDX and getting confusing info regarding the premium fuel requirement. Some info reads "recommended" and that the use of fuel <91 octane may affect performance. while other places i read may damage engine. Can running on regular 87 octane fuel damage motor???

If the owner's manual says, premium fuel recommended, it should say which octane is the minimum. However, it the manual says, premium fuel only, then that is the only fuel you are permitted. If the engine is damaged as a result of using too low octane, you risk voiding the warranty. Oh, if you can use a lower octane, the engine will produce less horsepower and will mostl likely affect performance.
