Getting along with our 2000 Pathfinder pretty well, but it's developed an interesting problem and wondered if anybody would care to guess exactly what it is:

The car "bounces". It's not a full rear-end all at once bounce but more a left/right/left/right bounce. It only happens when certain conditions are met:

1. Around town, under 45 or 50 mph, the problem doesn't occur.

2. HOWEVER, under 45 or 50, if you press the gas to speed up, or release the gas to slow down, there's a quick "pull" or slight "jerk" to the right that's part of the problem. It doesn't start bouncing though.

3. When out on the highway, as long as the engine is PULLING the car along, uphill or downhill, is doesn't occur.

4. When going downhill, or on a flat when you reach that neutral point in speed where the engine isn't pulling or slowing the car, it will start to left/right/left/right bounce. If you do nothing just to see what happens, the bounce increases and eventually you're forced to take action.

5. You can STOP the bounce almost immediately by either taking your foot off the gas, or by pressing the gas to speed the car up.

Ideas? I've been told it's NOT the anti-sway system. Hoping this is something stupid/simple/not too expensive!
