My a/c started blinking and now blows hot air.  I replaced the relay and that did not work.  The only thing that I discovered that works is if I hold the a/c button down, cold air blows.  So I took a penny and stuck it in the gap between the button and the dash to hold the a/c button down.  Now it works fine.  Just wanted to know if anyone has come across this problem and if there is a solution to this.  Don't want to burn anything out by forcing button down either.

For such a problem you better do a check few things, ensure your thermostat is working fine, clean the coils as they often get clogged and which lead them be inefficient in controlling air temperature. Check the amount of coolant as it will effect the A/C's optimum power of working.Ensure the drain pan is clean, as many times debris get accumulated and condensation pipes may get clogged by them.
