I was wondering with the merger between Chrysler and Fiat.....which Fiat and Alpha Romeo cars are Definitely coming to the US for 2012?

Also which ones will keep their names and not become chryslers?

Please provide links to news sources if there are any>

It is hard to say what cars are "definitely" coming to the US for 2012, but Chryslers portfolio is going to change, and it looks to be happening much faster than expected.

On Wednesday, April 21, Sergio Marchionne (CEO of Chrysler and Fiat) and other professionals will announce Fiat's "five-year plan" here in the states; this isn't the first time, back in November they had a meeting with the media about their "five-year plan". I can only image that planes may have changed.. for the better actually.

The Fiat 500 has already been announced for US sales. We may even expect an electric version developed by Chrysler, again to early to tell.

-- Fiat will start making the 500 two-door the fourth quarter of this year.
-- In 2011 Fiat will begin selling the convertible version of the 500 in North America.
-- In 2012, Fiat will launch the performance version of the 500, marketed under the Abarth brand.
-- Then some timeslot latter, Fiat will develop a four-door version of the 500 for North America (and Europe).

Fiat is slated to use Chrysler’s new Pentastar V-6 to replace an aging Holden V-6 that dates back to the old Fiat/GM tie-up. Chrysler will take advantage of Fiat’s Multiair valve-lift system, too.

Also expect in 2012 a Fiat based sedan (Chrysler badged), as well as the PT Cruiser and Dodge Caliber to be replaced by a Fiat-based small car in 2012.

I don't like speculating much, but time will tell. Its not just Fiat models, but Chrysler is revamping its line-up as well - aiming for better quality, and economy performance.

$300 Million dollar plant re-tooling under consideration, right here in my home state:

I have my doubts that any will become Chryslers. Some might share architecture but not be rebadged. Viva Italia!

Looks like the Italian brand is going to take a little longer to return to the U.S.
