When it comes to aftermarket for Mustangs, Saleen is a name you just can't afford to miss. Saleen has been modifying mustangs for years now and have created some of the most exciting and powerful ponies we've ever seen. Well today they continue to push forward and bring to the SEMA Show the 2010 Saleen S281.

No word yet on what engine or power lies beneath the hood but if we know Saleen, we know it won't disappoint!

Looks like we'll have to take it for an interesting exercise in styling for the time being. That's OK, with all the modded Stangs out there now, it won't do much for me even if it does produce outrageous HP figures. If anything catches me eye on it, it's what Saleen did to the rear end of the Stang. It could arguably be considered the best looking section of that Stang. I did see a rock crushing Shelby 500 pull up in gas station while I was filling my bike up there this Summer and was impressed with all the V8 rumble at the time. I wouldn't be surprised if this Saleen sounded just as impressive.

Well Saleen is well know for pushing performance. Yes I'm disappointed we don't have the actual numbers but its like you said, we'll base it off looks in the time being. I'm sure the engine will sound great. After all...I don't think they would want to lose to Roush!!

I still can't forget many years ago I was cruising my motorcycle on I-94 around Kenosha and happened to pass a Saleen S7 that was actually doing the speed limit in that wide open space. Even though I have some criticisms about its styling, it's still a looker and one of those sights I doubt I'll see again.

Well Saleen has always been a looker but people tend to know Saleen by performance.

True, he's one of the better known tuners when it comes to Stangs. But since the Stang has been around since 1964 he's got mucho competition in the Stang tuning business. Nobody will ever have as well a known name as Shelby in it. That doesn't mean his creations are better, although the Shelby 500 rock crusher is a crude, impressive machine.
