I am considering the purchase of a used RHD Jeep Cherokee with 45,000 miles on it. It is in excellent shape. I am a rural postal carrier and would love to have one for my work. I have looked at this jeep and the owner is asking $9,000 for it. As these vehicle are very hard to come by, I would be interested in anyone who has one and could tell me if this seems like a fair price. (My husband thinks it is a "rip off)!

They aren't too easy to find, but $9000 sounds insane to me. I've probably bought and sold about 20 Jeeps in the last 6 or 7 years and none were even close to $9k.

I saw one of these (Euro-spec, no less) on the road the other day. How are these getting into the country?

If the RHD Jeep is in excellent shape, then $9000 is a bargain. Consider the relative rarity of RHD postal jeeps and the near impossibility of finding a 45,000 mile example and the fact it is the perfect vehicle for a rural mail route, I'd buy it. Any car person worth listening to, will tell you that a used car is worth what a willing buyer will give a willing seller on a given day. It would be worth the money just to see the look on oncoming driver's faces.
