I was very amused reading about the GT-R and GT2 fighting over table scraps left by a production Dodge Viper at the 'ring.  The $200,000 GT2 (7:49) is 'only' 27 seconds behind a box stock Viper (7:22).  The GT-R's time (7:56) is much closer to a $20,000 260 hp Chevy Cobalt SS (8:22) than it is to a Dodge Viper.  The Viper is the world's fastest production car by virture of being the production record holder at the 'ring.  It's worth noting that the Viper is faster than the McLaren F1, Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari Enzo, Lamborghini Murcielago, Koenigsegg, Pagani, Porsche Carrera GT--all around a half million dollars or more.  Sometimes, it's great to be an American.

Well...the Viper you are talking about is the Viper ACR which is far from being stock. Also when I checked the GT-R's time was 7:29.
