Absolutely it does! Along with the 3 and 5-door models. But I think BMW is still haunted by the dismal sales of the 318ti. If the 335d and X5 35d meet sales expectations, I think there's a good chance we could see a 1-series diesel in the U.S. in a year or two.

IMO, the 318ti issues won't apply to a diesel BMW. The emissions just need to be a bit cleaner.
There is no one, perfect car!
