Considering there are already three other Lambda crossovers, is there anybody out there who thinks the Traverse will be more successful than its Saturn/GMC/Buick brethren? Is this just GM badge engineering again? When it comes out, it will have the most powerful engine available out of the four. Then again, the Traverse is the last of the four to hit the market.

The all-new Traverse is powered by a direct injection 3.6L V6 that puts out 288 ... That's a good move on GM's part.

If I was a Chevy dealer, I'd be happy that GM gave me a Traverse to sell. The rest of the Lambda crossovers will get the same engine so the Traverse doesn't really have an advantage in that department. Sure, it is badge engineering but as long as GM continues to have so many divisions, it will be tough not to continue such a trend.

GM has made attempts to move away from "badge engineering" only to get sucked back into it. Ponitac dealers demanded their own version of the Cobalt and Saturn stole the Pontiac Soltice's thunder with the Sky. If it's become too costly to devolpe cars unique to each division, maybe Buick,Pontiac and Saturn need to go. Or at least widdle the Saturn line down to cheap econo-boxes like Scion.
