Angry with BMW - what should I do?

I bought a 2008 BMW 528 xi last September in Fairfax, but in the last six months it was broken 4 times. We are really fed of this vehicle, but BMW is not willing to offer any compensation. The answer is simply that the car has been fixed and is working now.

The problem with the car was that it could not start for 4 times. First time when it happened, it was jump started. The technical person with the dealership could not figure out a reason. When it happened the second time, they changed the alternator. When it happened the third time, they changed the alternator again. We requested for a replacement that time. The salesperson did try to process the request, but not successfully. Then, it happened the fourth time, and they changed the starter! They did work on the replacement issue, but BMW did not approve the request. I was told that they might have approved it if the request was made when the car was broken but before it was fixed. I can't figure out the logic.

Should I go to a lawyer or a BMW manager? Thanks for your advice.

I have checked the lemon law and have contacted a lawyer. The lawyer thinks there is a real chance to win. But I need to pay 1/3 to 1/2 of the total recovery.

Should I sign this agreement with the lawyer, or should I have a futher contact with BMW? Thanks!

Under the California lemon law consumers are allowed to recover attorneys fees. Some firms may charge a retainer. But 1/3 or 1/2 of the recovery is a lot. The total recovery would include any monies paid out by the manufacturer. This may include a loan pay off. This is more common in personal injury cases- not consumer protection cases. Very odd.
