I am moving to NJ and hate the thought of parting with my M3 b/c of snow. What is the likelihood that I can fit the car with snow tires that will allow me to go to work? And does anyone have snow tire recommendations based upon experience in snowy conditions regarding this vehicle or similar (RWD, lots of torque, etc)?

You are in luck my friend, not only do we have M3's in NJ (I have an '02 convertible), but there are awesome snow tires for it.  As a matter of fact, I am leaving NJ and have posted an ad in the upcoming Roundel magazine.  Dunlop Sport M3's, with ASA wheels in impeccable shape.  Shoot me an email at acolindres72@yahoo.com and I can send you pics in case you are interested.  There are lightly used, and I will give them out for a great price.

The Dunlop M3 winter tires that were offered to you in another post are very good in the snow and will work well on your M3. I used to run those tires on my (now sold) Subaru WRX and our long-term Audi RS4 used them in the winter as well. Plus, they're very good in the rain and quite good on drive pavement.

For more info, check out tire rack's website:
