If you didn't see the topic all over the internet yesterday, there is (was) a turbine-powered Porsche 928 on ebay.
Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37%26satitle%3D170217977642%26category0%3D%26fvi%3D1&item=170217977642
This got me thinking. What are some dream motors swaps? Here are a few that jump into my brain:
-VW Rabbit GTI with a 150 or so hp 2.0-liter 16-valve -First generation Impreza (pre 2002) with a WRX STi powertrain -BMW's V-10 engine plugged into a mid-engined sports car (An Esprit?) -First gen Elise (Euro model) with a Integra Type-R engine -BMW 2002 with an E30 M3 EVO engine (2.5-liter) -Corvette Z06 engine plugged into a Fiero -Mazda 3-rotor in a Miata
So, what are some of your dream swaps?

Blown Big Block Hemi in a T-Bucket. I occasionally see a sharp one a a car show and can only imagine the out of control feeling of >1500 HP and <2000 lbs. Today I enjoy autocrossing lightweights but will eventually own a wicked T-Bucket.

I've always wanted a mid-engined minivan of some sort. Or maybe a 3-series with a 350 (there are kits available!). Or even a Miata with a 350. Or...

So then Mr. Gluckman, pretty much anything with a 350? I didn't realize you were such a GM small block fan!

A stout, clean little turbo diesel for my TJ Jeep.
The Liberty's VM diesel might do it, but I don't think it's as good as you can build now. I believe that it is still in use in overseas jeeps. Something like VW's new ones might work.
Always thought the Mazda 13B rotary in my MG Midget would be interesting...

Call me crazy, but I'm a fan of LS6/LS7 into Insert Car Here. So just about anything. That said, my car of choice (decent suspension geometry, light, stiff, and relatively modern but still dirt cheap) is the E30-chassis BMW 3-series.

That said, other favorites (favorites I've driven or ridden in) include:
-BMW E30 w/E36 M3 six-cylinder
-BMW E36/5 (318ti) w/E36 M3 six-cylinder
-Lotus 7 clone w/Mazda 13B rotary
-Late '90s Honda Civic hatch w/Integra Type R four
And, while I haven't driven it yet, Dad's 1972 Mercedes-Benz 280SE is on the lift getting a 300-plus-hp early-'90s S-class V-8. (It originally came with a 200-horse 4.5-liter V-8.) That one ought to be up there.

Huge electric motor, a bank of batteries and a gas generator. Sorry guys, I am thinking mpg. Oh wait, detroit can't build a car like that even though people have done it in their garages. Nevermind.
Ok I will play.
LS6/LS7 in an aveo. Make it RWD.
I am dead serious. A small car with tire smoking ability. Ever seen that VW with the lambo engine in it on "Top Gear?" It would be like that, but American.
