One more reason why I love Wired.com: They set up online photo contests every couple of weeks with different subjects. This one is from the transportation contest, and it got me thinking--any of you have a favorite car photo that you've taken? It can be artsy, straightforward, a detail...anything. Lay 'em out.

We can even offer the winner of this little contest a great book about cars.
For this contest, we're offering up "A Century of Automotive Style: 100 Years of American Car Design (Paperback)." Check it out on Amazon
Let's see some fun photos!

C'mon, guys: Phil isn't making this up. We've got a stack of cool stuff sitting in our office, just begging to be given away to some deserving sharpshooter. Is no one interested in winning something? Heck, at this point (with no entries whatsoever), all you have to do is post anything, and you're guaranteed to win!
Free! Car! Stuff! Just show us photos!

PhillyJake,
That's a start. You've won something just for playing. Send your mailing address to our web producer, David Gluckman (david.gluckman@automobilemag.com), and he'll make sure you get some free stuff in the mail.
Anyone else? We've got piles and piles of stuff to give away, just burning a hole on the shelf...

Okay, if you guys really aren't being too picky--and yet remaining ever so generous with those "free gifts" for our car-related snapshots--here's a basic photo of my 1985 LeBaron GTS:
![]()
Today, the car still looks just as good, this despite spending all of its life in a state where copious amounts of salt are deposited on the roads each winter ![]()
(If the picture doesn't show up here/doesn't embed, please go to: http://picasaweb.google.com/kamster/LeBaronGTS/photo#5199996575835000338 -- there are four pics to enjoy.)

slimak, that car is incredibly clean. Do you wash and wax it daily in the winter?

Thanks for the compliment, P_Floraday.
From the day it turned 20 and officially got its lifetime "Collector" plates and registration, the LeBaron hasn't spent much time on the road in Wisconsin's winters. (Basically, it gets a thorough washing and two or three good coats of wax in the fall before it's garaged and snuggly covered until spring.)
Needless to say, since I inherited it in 1987, I never skimped on maintenance or TLC.

So, did I "win" something for sharing my pics?

Nope. Sam awarded the prize before you posted your pics. Sorry.

Having read Sam's post, which stated, "Anyone else? We've got piles and piles of stuff to give away, just burning a hole on the shelf..." I guess I had assumed that "piles and piles of stuff to give away" implied plural awards.
