We have a 2003 odyssey with transmission problems, the Dealer in Maine,
"Darlings Automall"professed to know nothing of various recalls, charged us $288
for a new sensor, said they had performed the trans lube update a while ago
and would not talk about a new transmission, This car has 47,000 miles, it
was taken in with a complaint about erratic shifting @ 30,000. What are the odds
that this trans will last to 150,000?

Take it to another Honda Dealer ask them to run the diagnostics test on it. If the computer code details P0740 then you need a new transmission. Have them run the test, let us know.

Your vehicle would have been part of the first Class Action Lawsuit, therefore, check it out and remind Honda of their agreement with the abovementioned.
Let me know if you require assistance.
Thx Penny

Hi, I am picking my 2000 odyssey up from the dealer tomorrow with its new transmission. I LOVE my van and sadly the trans went last week. I researched called Honda directly they asked lots of questions including why I thought they should help. I was given a case number and had the car towed to my dealer. They reviewed and , replaced the trans for under $200.00 with another warranty!!!! Wonderful service. Suggest asking, be clear polite and let them know you need help. I never raised my voice and based on this experience would buy another Honda and plan too - civic for the family car and another odyssey in hopefully a couple of years maybe more if she holds. ps I was out of the extended warranty by almost a year on ownership just over 100,000 on miles.

Please don't be offended, however, the Odyssey that was purchased if you run the VIN, is part of the Class Action Lawsuit regarding the 1999-2001's. That is why Honda would have been so cooperative, nothing further.
If you want to join the Class Action, contact Michael Kirby he is the attorney in California.
