So how do I find that class action lawsuit for the vehicles up to 2001. I have a 2001 Odyssey which is on it's third transmission. They have always replaced it for me, but now they want me to pay for it with only 54,000 on the current transmission.

I have a 2001 Odyssey and has 102,000 miles and was told by Honda delaer that the Transmission has a problem. They are asking $4000 to replace it.
I called Jared Stamell - 212-566-4356 as mentioned in the blog to file a class action lawsuit. He said he will be talking to me on Monday next week.
Please let me know if you dealt with this issues any differently.

Well, it certainly looks like Hondas aren't designed by God himself, are they? See what happens when the public blindly follow "the herd?"
'Screw You' is the procedure used for complaints against the Honda Corportate Cult; that company is so arrogant it makes GM look like Forrest Gump.
My Buick LeSabre's transmission wasn't babied, had lots of Detroit heat and 80MPH blasts, it had one $60 fluid change, and it went past 235k miles. Honda clearly needs some GM Quality.
How about those Honda power doors that fail? How about those Honda fuel filler necks that corrode through, contaminating the fuel system? How about those Honda timing belts that break and leave you stranded and broke?

Do you have all the copies of your service records from the local dealer? If so, I would escalate the matter. Also, contact the original dealer, request a copy of the service records (specifically looking for the beginnings of transmission issues).
Let me know.

One more for the list: 2001 Odyssey - Gearbox replaced @ 60K, free of charge - and I assumed that they must have actually fixed the problem rather than just installing more of the same. Wrong. The replacement gearbox failed at 107K. I jump on line and find this thread. Interesting.
Great news I thought - our car is covered under the class action result - *just* - as 107K is <109K. Unfortunately, the car is older than the 93 month limit.
Honda have agreed to pitch in 75% so I'm going to end up paying about $800. Not happy. Not impressed that Honda hasn't fixed the problem at all. At least I should get a couple more years out of the car before having to replace it.
I wonder if Honda realizes how much more difficult it is to build up a reliability reputation than to lose it?
If we get another van it'll be a Toyota.

I bought a 2003 Odyssey in February from Ed Voyles, and the transmission had problem now (130k miles). Can you tell me a little bit more about the warranty of 107K and 7 years and 7 months? Does this warranty come from Honda - the car manufacture and cover 2003 Odyssey also? If so, who should I conact for the warranty?

The transmission on my 2003 Odyssey went out 2 weeks ago. I had it towed to AAMCO the next day and had the transmission repaired/rebuilt costing $3200. I didn't know about the recall and don't remember ever being sent a letter. I knew my Odyssey was past the original warranty. I'm not sure if I would have any recourse with Honda. I see there was a class action suit for earlier models, but is there a class action involving the 2003 Odyssey?

Well i'm sure this is a late response but I have the same exact problem. 2003 Honda odyssey 54k. Its starts slipping, problems engaging in reverse, at times it stutters on the highway downshifting. Later the check engine and the tcs lights went on at 55k. I talked to my mechanic that had the mgr from honda call about my transmission. Since i'm the 2nd hand owner honda is paying only 1/3. My cost comes out to almost 3k, ouch. I'm going to try to add my name to the class action suit

I just had my 2003 Honda Odyssey replaced for $2352 at Transmission shop. I only had 70,000 miles on mine. I fought with Honda for four months and they offer to pay $1600 of the $4200 repair est from a Honda dealer. The dealer stated they marked up the parts 40% if Honda is involved. I had called Honda's customer service and asked for a Goodwin review and they requested all of my service paperwork. I did not take it a Honda dealer for my service work but Honda did make that any issue. They just stated "Since its out of the warranty, this is our Goodwin offer." My arguement was they know this is a known problem and I did not believe I should pay anything and their response was, "You are asking us to pay for something out of warranty, and we will never pay this at 100%" Side note, their initial offer was $1000 and I believe they would have paid more than $1600 but I got upset with them and ended the negotiatons because they guy (Jay) was so arrogant and I even talked to his supervisor after calling back three more times to request it. When I first asked for Jay's supervisor he stated "I don't have one" then it was "I can put in a request, but I can't guaranty they will call you." No one did call but I kept calling back and eventually I got a Supervisor to call me back. It was very stressfull.

What number can someone call to get money from HONDA? I do I know that the dealer is offering what Honda is offering? Do you have to pay to be part of this class action lawsuit? What paper work do you have to provide to be part of the class action? What did the people from the first class action suit get? Does the ECU have to be changed out?
