Try it again. Someone just added a post:
OdysseyTransmission.com
Looks like there was an issue with quotes.

I bought my honda in 2006,a2003 honda pilot.I've took very good care of it. Now recently the letter D has been blinking when I put in drive. I could not find nothing in hand book about that problem. Looking online, I found that the transmission had torn up on others, starting with different gears going at first.I took my car to honda where I purchased it. After somewhat discusion they would check my car over good and see what needs to be done. Three hours later, great news. they would pay for my transmission to have a new one.They also found #600 more they could. I thought it was to easy. Before I got home a phone call came,saying that honda decided to only give me a new 4th gear and I would have to pay for it. After me really giving a peace of mind to him ,later he calls back to say that they would let me pay only for labor. I said no that I wanted my car fixedfor lots of reasons. 1: My car has only 77,000 it had 21,000when I bought.It should be good for over200,000. 2: I cannot hardly make my payment muchless buy a transmission. 3: They should do the people right and be honest about it for it will someday come back on them.I'm going to talk to a lawyerI think these problems should have been corrected a lone time ago.To be continue:::

I am very interested in joining the next Class Action lawsuit! I own a 2002 Odyssey. Same problems. I got a quote today from the dealer to fix the problem, they want me to pay $2,500. I called Honda of America, they said the quote stays, there is nothing they can do about it. I say that's absurd! Please let me know the contact info to join the next Class Action Lawsuit. Thanks!

We puchased our 2003 Odyssey in 2004 from a local dealer. Have had no problems and had all of the service except a few oil changes done at the dealership. Just dropped the car off today and the dealer service department with the TCS light on. Looks like form the forum bad news is on the way. I would like to join in this lawsuit assuming that we are experiencing the same problems as everybody else. email: edwillman@hotmail.com, thanks....ED

I have a 2003 Honda Accord needs new transmission- Attorney's # for Class Action for the Accord is 212-566-4356. Not sure if it would apply to the Odyssey, but worth a try, maybe all these cars have the same type transmission?? Good luck!

Has anyone experienced the "shorting out of the dashboard lights?" My odyssey lately, seemed sluggish, hard to start etc. Now, on the dashboard I noticed it shorts, I can see all lights including the door lights light up and then off again.
Took it to dealer. Tell them can find nothing, what is going on now??? Any thoughts anyone???
Thx Penny

I know it's been a while since this was posted, but I would love the name of the attorneyto get his/her opinion on this problem. I own a 2001 Odyssey. My transmission went when I was just beyond the parameters of the extended warranty. Honda provided me with what they call good will and paid for the transmission. I was responsible for the labor costs. I received a new transmission with a 36,000 mile warranty. Lo and behold, my transmission just went again at 38,000 miles! I've talked to Honda and because I received the one-time good will, they will do nothing. Needless to say, I'm frustrated.

So, my 2003 is sitting in the shop right now and they say it needs a new tranny...they said the previous recall has nothing to do with the current problems....yeah. right. Anyway, what are the steps to going for a goodwill repair from Honda?

@Penny
I noticed the "shorting" you described in our 2002 Ody. It "fixed" itself after the next restart. I noticed the odometer was 107000 exactly. It seemed to happen when it rolled over. Probably just coincidence. Anyway, it has not had it happened again. I have not experienced the sluggish/hard to start issue. I will keep an eye on it and let you know if it happens again. Bruce

Penny,
I am sure in all of these posts it is stated somewhere but I thought I'd go strait to the source. Should I contact Jared, the lawyer in NYC, to find out about a class action law suit against Honda for the 2003 transmission? Thanks!

They should recall all of these van because they always talk about quality, my ass I paid full price for this van. The first time I've ever done that they sent out a recall notice for my 2002 and did something to the transmission. I am having problems with my transmission I believe it's the shift module on the transmission at least thats the code that flashed on the diagnostic test machine. Take it some where else and have it tested before you give them 3200 bucks!

My apologies everyone, I have been dealing with some family issues, had not reviewed this site for a ***
Anyways, yes, speak to Jared or one of his colleagues. Do not give up, this is exactly what Honda expects of us..
