So I've always kind of wondered this, but never seen anything that compares them side by side. Which is the overall better vehicle, the Shelby GT500 or the Saleen S281E? Pure stats are one thing, but I don't really know anything about handling characteristics and that sort of thing for either car (I like to pretend it's because I'm too busy driving all my other fancy expensive cars). Anybody with some more insight/experience have some opinions?

I can't really speak to the Shelby vs. Saleen issue, although I am a Saleen owner (2003 SC Speedster). Love the car on the street, but from a "true" performance perspective it is definitely lacking...big time. Straight line power is good, but when introduced to a road racing environment the car was terrible...high push and massive body roll/brake dive. If you are really interested in performance handling AND power, I strongly suggest you check our Griggs Racing newest ride..the GR40. Depending on your needs/wants/budget they have three versions - ST, TT and RT. They have some great video clips at www.GR40.com....enjoy the ride!
