"He might hear some arguments from Honda dealers, whose lots are full of unsold Ridgelines."

INDEED.

Very bizarre concept vehicle that looks less like a truck than the Ridgeline or the Avalanche do.

And with the added hybrid tehnology, this truck will arrive at market with a price that will scare away most buyers.

I'm still baffled at why the auto makers seem determined to super size every new year of every make they make.

Also,18" rims take alot of power to spin much more than 15"er's.

I am kind of baffled as to why Toyota and Nissan have'nt tried to unitize their standard small pickups designs to save weight and upgrade their safety ratings.

And-no diesel engines offered in their small trucks as well.

And Mazda had a small pickup with ac and  five speed manual that was rated at 29 mpg at one time so gas mileage can be had in the convenional small truck.

And it LOOKS like a pickup truck.

Oh well,Toyota, good luck selling these $30,000 small psuedo-pickups.

REGARDLESS OF PRICE, IF YOU ARE LIKE ME, A DO-IT-YOURSELFER, WHO NEEDS A LITTLE PICK-UP CAPABLE OF CARRYING A SHEET OF PLYWOOD, OR A LARGE TV EVERY NOW AND THEN- TRY TO FIND ANYTHING WITH A 4 CYL ENGINE, OR STRAIT 5, OR 3, GIMME A BREAK! ALL "SMALL TRUCKS" ARE BIGGER THAN A 53 CHEVY 1/2 TON, AND "NOW STANDARD WITH A V6 ENGINE- MEANS MORE TOWING POWER" AND LESS FUEL MILEAGE. WHERE IS GM'S SUZUKI DEISEL? WHERE'S FORD'S MAZDA ENGINE? CAN'T ANYONE SEE THE WRITING ON THE WALL???? DO I HAVE TO BUY A 72 COURIER?
OR AN OLD SR5?? A RABBIT DEISEL???? TOYOTA SHOULD MAKE IT CUTER AND LESS LIKE A SLAB-OF-CHEESE RIDGELINE...

Yes I totally agree with you guys.  Everytime I drive by a Toyota dealership and see big Tundra's, I want to scream.  I've had used small trucks a long time.  I sold a Mitsubishi MightyMax pickup with a 130,000 I had for 10 years that never gave me any problems and had great gas mileage.  I got lucky and bought a 1992 Nissan hardbody single cab, 4 cyl with only 79,000 miles for $3500.00.  It runs great with p/s, a/c and auto trans with a bedliner. If they brought back these small trucks I would be the first in line to buy one.

jezdfax,it's really looking like what you did is becoming the only solution for people looking for truly small pickups that get decent mileage.

Just a sidenote.

We just sold our beloved 1989 Nissan pickup Kingcab for $700.

It had 245,000 relatively troublefree miles on it.

All I did was change the oil(synthetic) and do the factory maintenance on it.
