Long time lurker and new user.
I saw a couple of these cars over the weekend and thought the the car was a little over priced and the rear seating was crampted.  Has anyone else seen this car?

Sat in one in the showroom. Adjusted seat for myself- 5'5" frame weighing in at featherweight of 110lbs, went to seat myself behind and found that there was neither  footroom  ( only wearing size 6 shoes )nor kneeroom! When offered a test drive by the sales rep, I declined . This cute looking EX is really a 2+2 that has 4 doors ,but with smallish set of rear doors suited for people that has size 5 shoes or smaller!

If you want a small SUV with back seats, forget the EX35.

My wife and I ended up leasing one for different reasons.  First, I wanted a sport sedan and she wanted a small SUV.  We are young professionals who do not plan to have kids.  We wanted a sporty vehicle with AWD, some utility, and great ride for long distance trips.  This is not a yuppie soccer-moms SUV, like the MDX or RX350.  Another reason why we liked it.

We tried the RDX but found the interior gimicky and does not have much user space for its size.  Also the turbo 4 was really unrefined.  The Rav4 does not have the nice interior and the X3 was the most expensive with least features.  The X3 engine was smooth and ride was great but not the best value nor reliability.  We looked at the Audi A3 and it was a very good compromise.  The Subaru Outback sedan was our runner up, with good space, high value, and nice interior.  It had the H6 and not the turbo but was still spunky.  We went for the EX35 because it is essentially a G35 hatchback, NOT a SUV.  It feels small (I'm 6') because the windows and roofline is angled inward, but the seats are supportive and we plan to drive around with the seats down, which really helps rear visibility.

The ride in our EX35 is great!  It is more quiet than a G35, almost as fast, and definitely gets the looks.  the interior has lots of functions, but unlike the RDX, it looks clean and classy.

If you have a family greater than two, look somewhere else, but this was perfect for us (young professionals).  It is expensive, and Infiniti will only make 30k per year, so you will not one often on the road, unlike a BMW 328.  Thats fine for us!

It's nice to see a description of why someone bought a vehicle. I can see how the EX35 worked for you. To me, it's too small and cramped for an SUV but I guess if you think of it as a G35 wagon/hatchback, it makes sense. Plus, your wife gets her small SUV.

I wouldn't be caught dead in that Gremlin or what ever AMC called them.

The 09 EX35 Journey RWD Fit our needs!
My wife and I wanted a small sedan, we looked at the G, BMW 328i,BMW 1 Series, VW Jetta, and we keept coming back to infiniti. We both love the interiors of the Infiniti's. I really was not comfortable, as the primary driver, in the 328i, the G or The Jetta. I was comfortable in the EX35, I learned that they give the EX a little more driver room than the G. My wife and I both loved the interior quality of the EX, It was our number one choice. We only use the back seat to transport our grand kids, they are under 10 years old. The back seat in the EX fits our needs 98% of the time. We both loved the fold down back seat, this gives us room for any stuff we might buy and need to haul. One of the reasons we needed a smaller vehicle was our tight garage space. The EX has a perfect solution, first it's size fits in our garage perfect, second the sonar system helps us park with ease. We also love the 360 camera. We really wanted our next vehicle to include heated front seats, a moonroof, navigation and bluetooth. The EX delivered all the features and more. When we priced all the competitors, with all the features we wanted the price rose above our budget. We were able to get everything we wanted, in a package we loved to drive and look at staying below 35 grand. We could not even come close with the other choices. I really don't think the EX is a SUV, I am not sure it's really a crossover, I think it's a good looking, comfortable G that was "plus sized", providing added versitility while staying small enough to meet the needs of consumers that don't want to drive or park a large vehicle. The added bonus, it runs strong, It performs better than any of the other vehicles we test drove.
