bought a used 500 mile caddy cts had the 2.8 engine and light grey leather it said
found out it was leatherette really vinyl and the stated leather on the invoice on the used car sticker
saw this on a few caddys used with the 2.8 engine so u pay more for the car thinking u are getting a leather inside in car ads
taked to cadillac but getting a run around this could effect hundreds on cars not only the 2007s
let me know if others have this combo we can do a class action suit against gm

I had a company 2005 CTS, and yes leather was an option; it is not Caddy's fault, but rather the dealer you bought it from passing it off as leather on a used car (had there been the new car sticker somewhere you would have seen that it had "leatherette"). Chalk it up to horrible dealer practices rather than a manufacturing issue...besides the leatherette in mine was just as nice as the leather in the others.

Realistically,you're screwed.
Either you get the dealership to credit the cost back to them for an exchange vehicle like you want (not likely) or start pumping thouands of dollars to a lawyer to sue them.
You could also call one of your local tv stations customer rights reporters and get the dealership on tv explaining why it 'lied' to you.
But anyway you go,it's all a big hassle.

Why does this guy think it's Cadillac's fault?
First of all, use correct grammar so we can understand what you're saying.
It sounds like you didn't read into the options on your car, and you want to blame someone else.
Or, the dealer told you it was leather, and it said leather on the sticker, so that would be the fault of the dealer.
How Cadillac got involved I don't understand. You can't sue Cadillac for using leatherette on the cheaper models, because all new CTS's at my dealer clearly state that they have leather or leatherette.

While i agree that its wrong to sell a car as equip with leather when it actually has vinyl, will the majority of people even notice when the sit in your car?

You need to see if the original Monroney (window sticker) for your CTS (when it was new) stated that it had leather. I'm sure if your car has vinyl then the original Monroney didn't state that it had leather.
Next, go and chat with the dealer about the situation. Tell them your disappointed and ask what can be done about it.
As stated before, you are most likely out of luck but, to be honest, modern vinyl is so nice that it really isn't worth the trouble.
