Hello there. I'm in the market for a new vehicle for work and for play. Needing some help with choices. I'm 24 years old, have been working for Aflac insurance for about 4 months now and am quite successful at it. I've found my calling. Now, I'm still driving my trusty blue 1998 Buick LeSabre, but I want to ride around in something a bit more modern; that will possibly instill confidence in new clientel. Something that the Buick might not be able to convey. Taking into account that I need to only really haul myself, I'm about 6' 1" and my lady on occasion; my laptop and briefcase and the like. Other than that, just my sisters and one of their boyfriends should the need ever arise, but rarely.
I have my eye on these vehicles atm:
2008 Cadillac CTS DI 2008 Infiniti FX35 2008 Mazda CX-7 2008 Dodge Charger R/T / SRT8 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8
Any other suggestions or feedback is appreciated.

If you want lots of feedback/comments/suggestions, try posting in Motor Trend forums, lots of traffic there!
I would go with the CTS as it recently won Car of the Year!

I am a Diesel freak and have driven them since 1970 and will not own or drive anything but a diesel. If you can wait for the 08 Jetta Diesels that would be my choice. Other wise Mercedes is your only othe choice. I have an 05 CDI and it is the greatest (38mpg avg.) and goes with the best of the gas guzzlers.

For the price range, another viable option is the 2008 Acura TL. The beauty of it is that there are really only a couple of options - navigation, type-s - so everything comes standard (e.g. power windows, seats, doors, etc.) within it's mid 30s price range. An affordable entry level luxury vehicle that's one of the more advanced in regards to tech.
Plus, since it's basically an upgraded Honda it's fairly reliable. And finally, when I bought mine back in the early 2000s, I remember reading the brochure at the dealership that said that the median salary for TL owners was over 100K. Probably just marketing, but doesn't hurt for others to believe you make the big bucks as well (although admittedly having a Cadillac will say that as well ).
Either way, good luck!

For some weird reason,I'm seeing alot of TL's on the used lots. These cars should be very durable and thereason I think that they are traded is that ,like Honda Accords, they do their daily job of getting you from a to b SO WELL,that people have a hard time getting attached to them. Acura TL's are great cars as far as I'm concerned-just a bit out of my price range.

What about the Infiniti G35?
Loaded it's 35k (And I'm talking everything you could ever want).
Cheaper than the CTS 300hp (cause your Dodge choices suggest you want power and the Infiniti V6 is great) Infiniti (cause you've mentioned the Infiniti FX...)
But sounds like what you need is a great sedan with some presence and luxury. (wouldn't suggest a CUV unless you're hauling more than you listed) G35 does great for cheaper than a lot of others. Great engine. And plenty of room for TALL people (Our guys are 6'3")
Review will be posted in this week.

There are some great cars in the market today, a couple you already mentioned. On top of the G35 the now have the EX35 a unique version of the G35 stretched and pulled to make a cross-over. 297hp with fluid steering and great tech. I'd think as an option it wouldn't hurt to take a look.
Best of luck and let me know what you think.

You might want to think about the new Audi A4. It has luxury, style, refinement, and yet you could go with the high performance S4 or RS4 models also. It has the well known name and the respectability of Audi. If not, I would go with the Cadillac, as you don't need any crossovers and the dodges are not the cars that will give your clients confidence. Also, the G35 is nice that was mentioned earlier.

I agree with the other posters here-based on how you use a car, skip the Infiniti FX35 and Mazda CX-7. Excellent vehicles if you have a couple kids, but you don't. I'd also skip both Dodge's-they are discontinuing the Magnum for one. Two, I've seen Chargers as fleet cars, so it won't send the message you're looking for. Third, I found the interior of a Charger R/T I sat in appallingly awful. A disgrace. The Audi A4 was mentioned by someone, which is a good choice. But if you are looking to impress people, get the new Mercedes C-Class. It will get you much better recognition among non-car fans, even if the A4 is, dynamically, the better of the two. But it sounds from the tone of your post you are more concerned about image than driving ability. If that is the case, get a C-Class or the Cadillac CT-S.
