Grinding sound from wheels in rainy weather - Volvo XC90

I have a 2005 Volvo XC90 that makes a grinding high pitch metal to metal sound (from either the engine or the front brakes) when its rainy weather and passing through pools of water. The local volvo dealer has not been able to find out what is the problem. Can anyone out there help me?
