I own a 2002 Highlander that I purchased new.  When I start my car there is a smoke that is emitted from the rear of the car and stops after the car has been running for a brief time.  Although the car seems to be using quite a bit of oil - there are no visible oil leaks and the muffler is in good working condition. There are no engine noises either.  Has anyone ever had this problem confused and what was the resolution?

I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla.  It doesn't smoke and we need a Smog Check for this year.  The car was brand new.  I think it might be a cold start?  I had an old GM car that did the same.  Maybe change the oil with a different number?

I think it is just a first start. Probably the engine consumed more oil than usual, but I could be wrong. Best if you could check it or bring it to a car mechanic

You have a typical case of blow by. oil consumption is a dead giveaway after the warmed up do a compression test do a wet compression test in a dry compression test iMac and explain all the details of that if he does then you needed your homework typically been meaning to start you won't see it as everything is tight coal at the Oak assumption is a dead giveaway. You're burning oil, because each piston rings are not doing their job on the wiper cycle. For more pitcher rings to top rings are compression or more in the lower brings our wipers and cylinders are either dirty or the rings you were out. Don't try to do the chemical thing schema can't have a mechanic of eyes you pay to have it at analyze it won't cost that much at that point. You can determine your money and are not. the other possibility is to give a cracked block in the oil is seeking from the engine crankcase into the cylinders again immediacy of mechanic
