Cadillac looks to be serious about becoming a real competitor in Europe. The new CTS will arrive there this year with an all-new 2.9-liter turbodiesel V-6 rated at 250 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. Do you think we'll ever get that engine?

I would LOVE to see the torquemonster CTS diesel come here! However, because of the long-lingering bad taste about GM's stinky, noisy diesel cars of yore, I think GM will be very cautious about bringing putting diesels back in their U.S. market cars . . . I doubt that time will come in the lifespan of the next CTS. But we can always hope!

Sadly, the American diesel market ids being held hostage by the American Gas companies.
They don't want you to have a diesel car.
So they continuously overprice diesel.
Don't expect alot of diesels here soon.

If the 335d and Jetta TDI are really successful, figure on GM as well as many others re-consider their diesel plans for the U.S. I think the main issue right now is awareness and knowledge among American consumers.
