The Yonkers sales manager replied to another persons thread here and sounded matter of fact about resolving their issues.

The best way to deal with any car buying issue is simply to walk out of the dealership and to go elsewhere to buy your car.

I would also recommend that those of you who have access to one, join a credit union so that you can get your financing from them and simply walk in the dealership and tell them "I want this ar,I have my own financing-wht is your bottom price for this car."

If they tell you just wait--I'll be back-after fifteen minutes or so-write your name and phone number,(or cell phone number of you like, just be ready for endless call backs) on a piece of paper(do not give them you social security number),give it to the sales person and tell them."You can leave your price on my answering machine.I'm going to check another dealers price."

Remember this always-the dealer did not force you to buy the car.

Before your name is on any paperwork-you can ALWAYS at anytime walk out.

Most sales people are at a dealership to do ONE THING.

Sell that car at THE HIGHEST PRICE YOU WILL PAY.

Why?

Because all that extra money goes right in their pocket.

As a buyer you have the right to leave any dealership that you feel the employees are disrespecting you.

And -for people who feel they are getting a raw deal from the dealer about warranty service,I would write letters and send emails directly to the highest people in the company I could send it too( not the dealership-the actual company-Honda).

You should include an exact history of what happened-who at the dealership you talked ytoo-what they said-EVERYTHING.

Unlike the dealership that doies'nt want a written history of what was said-YOU MUST be able to provide a detailed history of your complaint.

That is your very best weapon for justice in this kind of issue and never turn over your originals to anyone-make copies and keep the originals in a safe place- so you can make copies for a lawyer if that becomes necessary.

WRITE IT ALL DOWN-AS IT IS SAID TO YOU.

Seeing a customer do this scares the hell out of crooked people and honest people respect a customer that does this without being an axxhole.

Just say,"I'm sorry,I have a bad memory so I have to write all this down."

The GM whining "we didn't get a chance to make any money from you" is full of ***
A car dealership is from 2 to 4 businesses under one roof:
* new car sales and used car sales are sometimes combined
* parts and service are sometimes combined
But usually, all 4 operate independently.
When you take you car in for warantee work, the service department gets to charge the manufacturer full-rate for maximum book hours for the repair ... often more than they would charge a repeat customer.
They are making MAXIMUM PROFIT off your warantee repairs.
Have no sympathy for the bogus whining!
