We've found this vehicle to be a competent entry into the mid-size sedan segment. It has oodles of interior space thanks to the new chassis on which it is based and gets great mileage out of the 2.0 liter. We're looking forward to some serious road-tripping this summer.

Have you driven this car? What has your experience been? We are just getting used to our copy and would love to hear about yours. How does this new generation of Passat compare to the long history of previous generations?

This this has the tiniest, most useless side mirrors in the world! What's up with that?!

Great car. I have a 2.0t Value Edition, 6-sp manual. MSRP under $24K. Leased with $0 down & a cap cost of $21K. Added factory style aftermarket alloys and XM roady2. 8 months old & 12K mi to date, not one problem. Could have more supportive seat bolsters (already perfect under thigh) and I feel that the console is too wide, encroaching on driver leg space. Recently rides were '02 Lexus GS400 (not all that exciting), '04 BMW 530I 5-sp (loved the car, don't miss the payment), and a '04 Accord EX-L 5-sp (simply an appliance). All were leased new.
