Mitsubishi recently announced that the Lancer will have a diesel engine by 2010. It apparently aquired said diesel from PSA by letting Citroen and Peugeot make two new versions of the Outlander SUV. Fair deal?

A diesel Lancer is definitely a cool thing. Do we really need two new re-badged Outlanders? Probably not.
