Apparently BMW is tired of Audi, Mini (okay, BMW owns them,) and VW having control of the small car luxury market here. Sources say that the 1-series will come here around this time next year, with a coupe and convertible powered by the 300-horsepower turbo six found in the 335i. We're told we will get no hatchback and only cars with two doors.

Although the hatchbacks would have been nice, the other cars look like fun too. I'm looking forward to next year.

yeah, it would be nice if BMW would allow people to take advantage of the 1-series' small size by offering the hatchbacks, but i'll reserve my judgement until we see how these two doors look when they arrive. i guess if they look awesome, that somehow makes up for the lack of practicality.
