Here's a link to our full story on Toyota's new FT-HS sports car concept--the car that might become the next Supra. Will Toyota build a hybrid sports coupe? Will it look this wild? Keep the roof?

Admittedly, I have never been a Supra fan.  Mostly, I have always thought that car was an obnoxious mess and its "exclusivity" didn't impress me in the least bit.  However, the pictures of the "Future Toyota-Hybrid Sport" are encouraging.  For instance, I like the car's compact and stable look and its image of stealth.  The roof, in my opinion, should be left retractable.  The side profile is definitely the best one, however, just because of the car's compact image coupled with the Veyron indent.  Nonetheless, I don't care if this car can reach 100mpg, take that ridiculous Prius Hybrid badge off!  How embarrassing to drive a sports car with that ruddy little "look at me I can drive in the carpool lane as a single" badge.  The front-end looks scary, that's all I'll say about that, and the rear is...different.  In essence, the FT-HS is encouraging, but I'm not impressed.  At least its price should not mirror its spectacular performance numbers.

This thing hurts like a Vulcan neck pinch.  Haven't you guys done the "styling cars on acid" thing before?  Isn't that how you killed the Celica and more recently sealed the Solara's fate?  Cars that look neato in video games are usually an abomination on the street.  Fire all dorks on staff sporting hair colors that would be genetically impossible or 4" diameter tailpipes on their sport-performance monstrosities and replace them with stylists from Alfa-Romeo.

It just doesn't flow.  The lines clash with each other as they each try to call attention to themselves.  The end result is chaos.  Perhaps a production version with smoother lines can cure the ills of what I see here.

I agree with Idiot Boy and Austin Cooper.

That's not styling-that's a mess.

It looks nice but I think the front could use some work.

Why not try something completely different Toyota?  Do a car for enthusiasts rather than the guys who sag their pants around their ankles.  Design a stunning modern GT with brilliant lines like the Maserati Gran Turismo and bolt in the powerful, soon to be ubiquitous aluminum 5.7 liter Tundra V-8.  Performance would be electrifying; parts will be inexpensive and plentiful for years to come.  Toyota has the resources (if not the mind set) to readily bring to market a highly desirable yet affordable GT supercar.  It’s been a long time since Toyota built the celebrated 2000GT.  Will they ever again produce a car as timeless or will they keep designing these overwrought spaceships that no one will care to remember twenty or thirty years from now (let alone be willing to replace the battery packs)?

Could something that looks a bit like this

one of these simple but effective things

= the next

I don't know why you call yourself,Idiot Boy.

You make more sense than the idiots that designed that new Supra!
