Yeah, I've owned one Golf, two Rabbits, a Scirroco and a bug. For the most part, they've been good cars with a high fun factor. The build quality is good (with the exception of the interior plastic parts) and hop-up parts are easy to find and install. The One pictured above is actually a TDI. I've done a number of mods to it so it handles well and is reasonably quick. Last time I had it on a dyno it made 121 horses and 270 ft.lbs. of torque. It gets 33 mpg at full mashed throttle and around 42 mpg on the highway at speeds above 70 mph. I'm gonna keep it as long as possible - great car!

I have been into Volkswagens for a long time, I presently own a 03 Passat, and my son has a yellow 03 GTI 20TH Anniversary. Both cars have been modified, we did the same work to both cars. We also have a 84 Volkswagen Scirocco that is a dedicated race car that we race in the SCCA ( Sports Car Club of America ). I will attach pics if I can get it to work.

This is one of the last GTI MkIV's, in all of its hefty, understeering glory. I love it all the same.

i sincerely believe that those "potato cutter" wheels are most likely the best looking facory-offered wheels around- better than even Mini's offerings (some of which are really quite fantastic). They totally make up for Volkswagen's chroming-and-ubiquitizing of the passat and jetta (with the exception of the GLI, of course).

Here is my 1990 MKII GTI. The MKV rocks, and I plan on getting one eventually, it definitely deserved AOY. I'm 19 years old, and I've found my dream car. I've only had it for 7 months, so all I've done to it is put a Koni Sport suspension on it. By the middle of next month my rims and tires should be installed, next step brakes, then the engine. I decided to to support mods first.

Shifty, I love your two-tone paint job. We noticed that you painted your wheels between pictures. I like the black wheels better.
