Rumor has is that Audi is planning a diesel version of their R8 supercar. How awesome is that? We think that the engine is much better suited in this hot sports car than in the Q7 SUV. While that big thing needs the extra boost, the R8 TDI would be almost like a street-legal LeMans R10 race car. Audi is so far ahead of the pack with bringing diesels into a better light here in America, and around the world. We want one. What do you think?

Since I'm an engineer at heart, there are few things I love more than supercars. One of those things is efficiency. So for me, a diesel R8 is a dream come true.

I'm a big lover of diesel motors, but I don't know if I agree with ya, Stu. I think there's something 'cooler' about the R8 having a TDI versus a Q7, but I think that's because the R8 is inherently cooler than the Q7.
Sure, diesels can be fast. Very fast. But they deliver power in a way that, in my mind at least, isn't 'sporty'...
Q7 V-12 TDI? Absolutely. But I'll take my R8 with an 8,250-rpm gas-burner.
