Hydrogen is hot; we haven't heard this much about number one on the periodic table since the Hindenburg blew. Just a week after BMW announced plans to market a test fleet of hydrogen-powered 7-series sedans, General Motors has followed suit in a big way. In the fall of next year, the General will release over 100 fuel-cell-powered Chevrolet Equinoxes to select customers in California, New York, and Washington, *** in a plan dubbed "Project Driveway." The vehicles will be loaded up with a long list of safety features including side curtain air bags and stability control, and are fully functional, real-world performers engineered to last for 50,000 miles. Earlier in the month, GM also announced that the GM Sequel concept-first shown at the 2005 Detroit auto show-will wear a Chevrolet badge. All of this, and the Camaro will go into production? Times might be getting better at Chevy sooner than some of us think.
Tell us what you think of this move by GM. Is this the beginning of a massive turn-around for Chevrolet and GM as a whole? Will the Equinoxes succeed or will something go wrong?

Again, where are the buyers going to get the fuel?!? This is a publicity stunt, through and through.
