The long-rumored 650-hp super-Corvette has been called many things. The Blue Devil. Z07. Sting Ray. Z06.R. Which one do you think suits the car best? Or is there another name you like?

I think the Stingray name is perfect for this car. It will distinguish the higher power Vette from the Z06 and the base Corvette. Plus, it just sounds cool. Imagine a gathering of collegues at work near the water cooler or in the cafeteria and telling them that you bought a new Vette and they ask "which one did you get?" Your reply...."The Sting Ray". Enough said. Gdubb.

The corvette has a long proud history.Bring back the Sting Ray name and continue the glory that Zora made famous.

It would be a shame for GM to spend so much money promoting the Z 06 only to change now. I think the Z 06-R is a good thought.

The super-Vette should be called the Sting Ray, bringing back the name from the 60's. Z06.R and Z07 are two of the worst names for it. Chevy needs to bring back something from its history, either the Sting Ray or call it an SS Vette. Either way, it goes back in Chevy's history to when muscle cars ruled the streets.

I propose the name Z07 XT (XTerminator), for that is what it surely will be.

There is no doubt that the name should be StingRay. Z07 is just more alphanumeric non-sense with no soul and Z06R has "tuner car" written all over it. The name StingRay calls upon a wonderfull heritage filled with honor.

I agree. Sting Ray is the perfect name, as I'm so tired of everything going alphanumeric. Not that everything isn't going retro or nostalgic too, but there's nothing nostalgic about a 650-hp superVette. I can't wait

as u know few years ago ferrari mades a red messile named 'enzo'& 53 years ago chevy made a history, named vette...thanks zora arkus dantov (father of the vette and the man who puts 560 hp in vette in 67),well i think its time to thank him and name the son his father`s name"corvette dantov" thats the way the super sport makers name their sons.
